Chablis is a small country wine town that has become our go-to destination straight off the plane. Just a two hour drive. A Cessnock of France if you will.
Thierry and Anne host this little BnB just out of town. Its our fourth visit and we have come to know their family and the life they have made here. They are welcoming and fun. Here is our greeting:
Anne made these Gougères for us. Comté cheese choux pastries. Perfect with wine.

Fun fact: What we know as the Sunflower, in French its ‘le tournesol’. The flower that turns to the soil.
Doesn’t every flower turn to soil? I feel like our turn of phrase for the flower is a bit more poetic.
Also that cold glass of chablis with the cheese pastries looks amazing!
